Every day, Rakotoarinoro Justin Julien Raymond, father of a family, wakes up early in the morning to leave his home in Andavamamba, one of Antananarivo's working-class districts, and head for Antohomadinika, another of the capital's working-class districts, to pick up bivalve mollusc - blood clams and oysters - from his suppliers. After a few minutes' calculation, he'll leave with half a bucket of blood clams and half a bucket of oysters, after washing them thoroughly.
