A poignant journey through pain and resilience, written by a Madagascan gynaecologist. For the second year running, a novel from Madagascar has been shortlisted for the Prix Ivoire, one of the most prestigious literary competitions on the African continent. This time, it is “Zakoa”, the first novel by Hary Rabary, which stands out among the five candidates in the running for the Prix Ivoire 2024, the ceremony for which will be held in Côte d'Ivoire on 23 November. This fact underlines not only the author's talent, but also the growing impact of Malagasy literature on the international scene.
