“Hidy”, a fresh look at Malagasy cinema at the Festival Court Derrière. Rova Andriantsileferintsoa shares her journey and hopes as a young director. From 1 to 5 October, the Festival Court Derrière in Saint-Denis (La Réunion) will be showcasing short films from the diaspora, with a selection of films from Africa, the United States and the Caribbean. The event celebrates the island's creativity and aims to raise the profile of Afro-diasporic works, while promoting cultural exchanges. Three prizes will be awarded, including the Eli Prize by the professional jury, the Makandal Prize by the student jury, and the Heva Prize, chosen by the public. Among the talent on show, Rova Andriantsileferintsoa, a Malagasy filmmaker, stands out for her film ‘Hidy’. In the run-up to the festival, we had the opportunity to chat with her in a telephone interview on 25 September. Here's a glimpse of this rewarding conversation.
