Numerous forest fires were detected and ravaged Madagascar's national parks between November 2024 and early January 2025, notably in Ranomafana, Andohahela and Manombo. Bush and forest fires are increasing at an alarming rate in the country. According to the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development, the area of burnt land reached 6,200,000 hectares in 2024, compared with 5,890,000 hectares in 2023.
