Antananarivo got a makeover a week ago. With investments from the Urban Commune of Antananarivo (CUA), the capital aims to get back on track and benefit from new infrastructure to allow smoother traffic flow and a healthier environment. However, waste continues to pose a major problem in the Analamanga region. Indeed, Madagascar has made a firm commitment to sustainable waste management as part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030, with the ambition of achieving "zero waste." The country has celebrated World Zero Waste Day twice since 2024, but major challenges remain.
