An unprecedented anthology brings together thirty Malagasy francophone poets, highlighting a rich yet often overlooked literary heritage shaped by memory, transmission, and cultural hybridity. On May 7, 2025, Madagascar’s National Library in Anosy hosted the official presentation of La Poésie de Madagascar, the first anthology to cover a century of Malagasy poetry written in French. Curated by scholar Dominique Ranaivoson and supported by the Fonds Yavarhoussen, the 368-page collection was published by Seghers and features poems from thirty Malagasy poets spanning from 1900 to the present.
