A historic page is turning in Madagascar. The U.S. Ambassador to Madagascar, Claire Pierangelo, announced this Tuesday the official end of USAID (United States Agency for International Development) activities on the Big Island at Villa Philadelphie in Ambaranjana. After nearly four decades of presence and interventions in vital sectors, the American agency is now giving way to the U.S. Department of State for the supervision of assistance programs.
