By reconstructing key episodes of Madagascar’s anti-colonial struggle, the film Tsara Joro, centered on the country’s independence, offers both an educational and committed reading of national history. It explores the forms of memory transmission. On Thursday, July 3rd, the Canal Olympia Iarivo in Andohatapenaka hosted a press-only screening - the final one before the venue’s definitive closure. This feature film, produced by Zébu Hollywood, is the directorial debut of Daniel Martin Losa, a former journalist and history professor. It is a work of historical fiction that delves into Madagascar’s collective memory, from French colonization to independence.
