- Lucas Rahajaniaina, 2min reading

A global first for a minority language, the Malagasy translation of The Diary of Anne Frank honors a universal memory while anchoring itself in local cultural sensitivity. For the first time, The Diary of Anne Frank has been translated into the Malagasy language under the title Ny Diarin’i Anne Frank, 78 years after its initial publication. Led by author Michèle Rakotoson and poet Mitia Riambola, this literary project prompts deep reflection on memory, language, and culture. It is part of a broader movement where great global works meet so-called minority languages.
