The 45th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) will be held on August 17th at the Ivato International Conference Center (CCI) in Antananarivo. This marks a historic occasion for Madagascar, as the country will assume the rotating chairmanship of the organization. During the first press conference held on July 23, 2025, at Kianja Barea Mahamasina, with the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rafaravavitafika Rasata; the Minister of Communication and Culture, Mara Volamiranty Donna, accompanied by her Secretary General, Fetra Rakotondrasoava; the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Loulla Chaminah; and Mr. Nainanirina Razafindrazaka, Director General of Industrialization at the Ministry of Industrialization and Commerce, the Minister of Foreign Affairs outlined the stakes and preparations for this major event. This summit will culminate two weeks of preparatory meetings, scheduled from July 28 to August 16, involving high-ranking officials, ministers, and international partners.
