Since its official launch on August 16 for the public (and August 15 for officials), Antananarivo’s cable car has already emerged as one of the capital’s most ambitious projects. Presented by the government as a response to the chronic traffic jams that paralyze the city, it has sparked both enthusiasm and skepticism. An analysis of early feedback and implementation conditions shows that major challenges remain before it can become a true tool for urban mobility.
